As you may have heard, I was selected as one of Lucky Magazine and Procter & Gamble’s New Voices of Beauty! This means I’m an honorary blogger for awesome P&G brands including COVERGIRL, Olay, Pantene and Secret! I heard the official word in December and have been looking forward to this adventure ever since.
Thanks to the over 10,000 votes you all contributed to help me win this contest, I got to travel back to my favorite city (I’m sure by now you all know which one that is!) for a weekend full of exclusive New Voices of Beauty experiences including meetings with Lucky editors and P&G Beauty representatives, and a “Day in the Life of the New Voices of Beauty” video shoot.
I arrived Saturday to the BEAUTIFUL Dream Downtown hotel in Manhattan.
I was welcomed with a Lucky bag packed with awesome goodies that I will be blogging about soon.
There were literally martinis and mascara waiting for me when I got there.
And free Champagne, too!
(Check out the view from my window, will ya?!)
The next morning I went out to brunch with the ladies of Lucky and P&G, along with my fellow NVBs Naty, Nikki, and Amy. We ate at The Mercer Kitchen in Soho and were greeted at the table with a directory of the best places to shop in the area! After brunch, it only made sense to go shopping.
We hit Topshop for a little personal shopping session. And more Champagne.
Monday was our big “Day in the Life” video shoot. We kicked off the styling process with nails by Miss Pop, hair by Kristen Ruggiero, and makeup by Stefanie Syat of Pre-Dame.
Stefanie and Miss Pop both pulled bright colors from my statement necklace for accent colors to use in my beauty look. Stefanie lined my eyes with a beautiful cobalt blue (my favorite!) and my nails were a bright juicy lime green – Essie polish in “The More the Merrier.” Loooved it!
When we were all ready we started shooting the video – some in the hotel and some around the city.
It was FREEZING, but I had a lot of fun shooting with the guys from Spreadhouse.
We then relocated to the Lucky offices (in my beloved Conde Nast building) for a Q&A session with Lucky Senior Beauty Editor, Maura Lynch. She was a doll and we learned a lot of fun beauty tips from her. I won’t spoil too much more – the video should be ready in a few weeks!
It was an incredibly memorable experience and I still have not adjusted to being back home. In addition to my New York trip, I’ll also receive a year’s worth of P&G Beauty products, access to an exciting selection of VIP events, and exclusive content opportunities for my blog. Keep an eye out – my first official NVB post will be on the blog next week! Thanks again to all of my readers for your support. I could not have done this without you. Hugs and martinis for all! 🙂
That’s so exciting Katie! I’m so happy for you! It looks like you had a great time and I love that they had martinis and mascara waiting for you. Too cute!
Sounds like an amazing experience. I’m very happy for you 🙂
