True story: Special effects makeup was my first love. As you can tell, I focus on beauty now, but I was also trained in special effects makeup and prosthetics. I still absolutely adore the art form (and respect all the friggin’ work) that goes into creating these makeups. With that said, I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THE MAC + RICK BAKER COLLECTION. Seriously. The thought of this collaboration makes me squee with excitement!
Baker is the mastermind behind the special effects makeup in films like An American Werewolf in London, Ed Wood, The Nutty Professor, Men in Black, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Wolfman, and many many more. He’s won like a zillion (or 7) Oscars as well as a multitude of other awards in the realm of creature effects.
So, kudos to MAC for teaming up with the legendary artist on this epic collaboration – launching just in time for Halloween. The collection features products chosen to create three Halloween looks designed exclusively by Baker (Bride, Day of Dead and Zombie).
This ode to movie makeup magic comes complete with everything you need to create the looks, including Acrylic Paints, Paintsticks, Chromagraphic Pencils,
Set Powder, Monster FX, Penultimate Eye Liner and Chromacake.
