The last weekend in September, beauty industry leaders from around the nation flocked to the beautiful Peabody Hotel for The Makeup Show Orlando’s second year. The highlight of my experience there was the blogger preview on the Friday before the two day event where inspirational badass/celeb makeup artist/The Makeup Show Director of Artistry James Vincent shared his insight (and his amazing crop of favorite products).
My favorite seminar of the event was the “Make Up For Ever New Flash Palette Focus: Artistry for Every Day” by brilliant artist Lijha Stewart for Make Up For Ever. (If you read the Allure piece, you know that the Make Up For Ever flash palette is one of my top five favorite products!) Lijha demonstrated how to use the primary colors of the flash palette to formulate foundation colors from scratch. Color theory is my absolute favorite concept in makeup artistry, so I really enjoyed listening to her take on it! These palettes are so versatile and can also be used to create highly pigmented bright looks – from lip colors to cream blushes and eyeshadows. Love love love the Make Up For Ever palette and also the company’s approach to artistry.
I was also introduced to a few new brands that I was not already familiar with. Here are the new products I fell in love with on the showroom floor:
Breakups to Makeup Fashions and Accessories
The “I would cry, but my mascara is designer” shirt is my absolute favorite. I loove cheeky tees and these are so fun and stylish. They also carry a collection of stickers and makeup clutches. Love!
Z Palette
Z Palette eliminates clutter by creating a streamlined palette for all of your makeup products. It features a clear cover and a magnetic base so you can depot and store your faves all in one place! They come in a wide range of fun prints too. I need to stock up on some more!
Flutter Lashes
The Flutter lash styles are absolutely beautiful. They feature a collection of high quality false lashes made from different materials including mink and also synthetic styles.
Paw Palette
Sanitary procedures are imperative when it comes to makeup. It is sometimes easier to use the back of your hand than to switch to a palette… but this eliminates that problem! Paw Palette facilitates easy access with this wearable solution. And they’re cute too! 🙂
