Valentine’s Day Beauty Guide

Happy Valentine’s Day! Love it or hate it, V-day is a great excuse to get your flirt on, enhance that romantic glow, and embrace the season’s girliest shades. Here are my picks for the best of Valentine’s Day beauty…

Violent Lips Queen of Hearts Set

Violent Lips carries tattoos for every occasion! I wear these all the time and I absolutely love them. They are totally fun and unique. Everyone will wonder how you did it, too! The Queen of Hearts set contains two different prints perfect for Valentine’s Day.

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Adored

Infused with natural clay harvested from the banks of the Amazon River and naturally baked by the sun, this nutrient-rich blush benefits all skin types for a fade-free flawless finish. This perfectly pink cheek color is especially perfect if you’re running right from the office to your dinner date. The awesome stay-put formula keeps your rosy glow going for 12 hours!

Marc Jacobs Beauty Lust for Lacquer Lip Vinyl

This is perfect for creating a glossy, sexy pout. It’s a champagne grape-infused lip vinyl with a shimmery wash of lust-worthy, sheer-coverage color. This lightly pigmented, plumping formula is infused with antioxidants, essential oils, and a hint of effervescence for a perfect pout with the highest shine.

Urban Decay Naked3 Palette

The Naked palettes reached cult status almost instantly. The latest in Urban Decay’s collection is the Naked3 which features neutrals that are on the rosier side – perfect for creating soft, romantic looks.

MAC Viva Glam Rihanna Lipstick

Seriously, it’s hard to go wrong with a classic red lip on Valentine’s Day. Rihanna’s answer to the Viva Glam lippies is the perfect shade, a bold blue-red, for the job. And like all of the Vivas before it, every cent of its selling price goes toward helping women, men and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.

Too Faced Sweetheart Beads Radiant Glow Face Powder

This has V-Day written all over it! Enhance that romantic glow with these multicolored heart pearls. This stuff sets makeup and provides just a hint of shimmer. Inspired by nature’s most flattering pink and golden-dusk colors, this face powder also illuminates and brightens for a romantic lit-from-within finish.

This limited-edition on-the-go brush set and case features exclusive Izak Zenou designs. This set of five brushes covers all the basics and comes in a stylish soft case, making it the perfect grab-and-go organizer.

NARS Nail Polish in Jungle Red

This is one of my absolute favorite classic reds. It’s perfection and wearable for any day, not just Valentine’s Day. Need I say more?

Lancome ‘Rouge in Love – French Ballerine’ Lipstick Rosy Rouge

God, I love me some Lancome. This collection of radiant, high-potency colors, with up to six hours of wear, is feather-light and offers serious comfort. I love Rosy Rouge, a petal pink. (And I think everything sounds more romantic with a French accent.)

Philosophy My Heart To Yours Set

A sweetly scented trio featuring a three-in-one formula, rich body lotion, and high-gloss, high-flavor lip shine. All three are scented with a sweet citrus vanilla scent. Together, this pleasantly scented trio makes the perfect gift for any sweetheart!

Lime Crime Launches Pink Velvet Tomorrow (and a Black Friday Sale!)

Ok, so everyone is having a Black Friday sale… but the one I’m most excited for is Lime Crime’s! It’s also the day that their new Pink Velvet Velvetine Lip Stain launches.

The Velvetine Lip Stain goes on like a gloss and dries down to a matte, velvety finish – like that of a rose petal. Kiss-proof, long-lasting, and utterly addictive! These babies are cult classics and adored by makeup artists and product junkies alike. The new shade is GORGEOUS.

If you plan to shop the Lime Crime Black Friday sale, you can enjoy 30% off beginning Friday at 9 a.m. and ending Saturday at 11:59 p.m. Shipping is free for orders over $50 too! Just use the code LOVE30 at checkout. This sale doesn’t include Pink Velvet, but trust me, there is plenty to love from the line that will be on sale.

Here are a few of my other fav Lime Crime lippies:

Opaque Lipstick in Glamour 101

lime-crime-babette-lipstick12 Opaque Lipstick in Babette

Opaque Lipstick in No She Didn’t

Glamour 101 is a beautiful classic deep red and Babette is a perfect for a soft nudey pink to pair with a smokey eye. And I know, I know. “No She Didn’t” is blue. But if you own it, I think you can pull it off! Just ask Rihanna.

Martinis and Mascara’s Picks for Best Dressed at the Grammys

Glamour oozed all over the red carpet on music’s biggest night. My pick for best dressed overall? Carrie Underwood, in a stunningly ornate strapless Roberto Cavalli gown (and over $30 million in diamonds). And representing the dudes, Adam Levine doing the monochromatic black tux thing, complete with bow tie and hot shades. Drool.

I also loved these gowns:

The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards - Arrivals

Kelly Rowland in a fierce black (and dangerously sheer) Georges Chakra cutout gown. A serious dress code pusher.

Katy Perry showcasing her silhouette and channeling 70s era Priscilla Presley in a mint green Gucci gown (and shockingly subdued makeup, for her).

Here are some other notable beauty looks that lit up the red carpet:

adele2 Powerhouse vocalist Adele wearing a dramatic eye with serious falsies and powerful liner to match. Loved her statement eye and also her loose romantic updo.

A soft and glamorous Rihanna wearing a bold red lip, perfectly highlighted skin, and beautifully styled subtle ombre curls.

I feel some tutorials coming on… 🙂
