Revlon Evening Opulence Collection

Revlon is one of my absolute favorite brands for affordable beauty. Thanks to Allure’s Beauty Blogger Awards, I have a gigantic train case stuffed with only Revlon products (thanks, Allure!). With the launch of Revlon’s Evening Opulence Collection, I think I’m going to need a bigger train case.

The much-anticipated Fall/Winter 2013 color collection is a celebration of makeup, bringing together a dazzling palette of rich purples, feminine violets and emeralds for the eyes, glistening plums and fuchsias for the lips, and graphites and matte sparkles for the ultimate nail jewels.

Gucci Westman (fierce makeup artist, Revlon Global Artistic Director, and also one of the judges from the BBA) designed the collection and also made up the faces of the ad campaign… which is equally fierce. Olivia Wilde and Emma Stone look stunning and wear the product well!  And if you somehow missed the memo, Olivia, Emma, and I are practically besties because we’re all hanging out in the pages of Allure this month. 😉

“I pictured a luxurious and polished woman, who looks to makeup to accessorize and enhance her look using bursts of color,” said Westman of her collection inspiration. “She is sensual, sexy and smart; modern, yet a little over-the-top. She makes each look her own, and her style is timeless.”

Here’s a breakdown of the new collection:

  • Revlon ColorBurst Lipgloss, offering bold color with 5 times more shine than patent leather. Available in three new shades: Embellished, Bejeweled and Adorned. $7.49
  • Revlon PhotoReady Kajal Intense Eye Liner + Brightener a dual-ended creamy Kajal liner with two contrasting shades. One new shade: Carbon Cleopatra. $8.99

It includes a primer, 3 pigmented shadows and a sparkle top coat for a bit of drama. Available in one new shade: Muse. $9.99
  • Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter subtle shimmer plus a hydrating formula of mango, shea and coconut butter give lips sheer color and a buttery shine. Available in two limited edition shades: Invite Only and Provocative. $7.49

Allure Magazine’s Best of Beauty Issue is Officially on Sale! (And I’m in it too!)

Remember that little contest I was in? And the photo shoot that went along with it? Of course you do! You all are the reason I placed in the top three and received the Most Buzzworthy title in the 2013 Beauty Blogger Awards! So, thank you again so much… because I truly could not have done this without you.

The October issue of Allure hit the shelves this week and I finally got my hands on a copy tonight. I literally danced around Publix with the cashier as I was checking out. It is so surreal to pick up a magazine in the store and see your face in it when you flip through the pages. I feel incredibly honored to be included in Allure’s famed Best of Beauty issue… and their biggest issue ever!

In addition to me gushing about my love of cosmetics and cocktails, the mag is packed with useful beauty goodness… like the details on the 246 amazing winners from Allure’s Best of Beauty Awards! Find out the hardest-working anti-agers, most effective frizz fighters, and the mascara that will make eyes bigger, brighter, and sexier (“Best of Beauty,” page 282). Plus: the most innovative new beauty products on the market (“The Big Breakthroughs,” page 203), worth-it splurges, and an award-worthy makeup palette for under $8!

It is definitely a must-read for all beauty fans… and I’m not just saying that because I’m in it. Speaking of which… here’s a sneak peek at part of my story (“The New Beauty Stars,” page 148):

So exciting! To read the rest you’ll have to pick up a copy of Allure… on sale now at a newsstand near you! 🙂
