Kim and Khloe Kardashian Celebrate Kardashian Beauty Launch in NYC

Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian

Whoa. So much has happened this week!

On Tuesday night, I was among an exclusive group of beauty editors, industry influencers, bloggers, and other personalities who gathered to celebrate the launch of the Kardashian sisters’ new Kardashian Beauty haircare collection.

Confession: I was silently fangirling over my many of my fellow attendees just as much as I was over Kiki and Koko. Major beauty royalty at this event.

Speaking of royalty, the regal princesses of reality tv were everything I thought they would be. Also, Kim can seriously pull off that lob and Khloe must do at least 14,000 squats a day. (Anyone who has Kim Kardashian ass envy has probably never seen Khloe in person. Bible.)

The best part of the event though? I actually really love these new products.

I am the first to admit that I’m always extremely skeptical of the quality of celeb products, but rest assured, the Kardashians hooked up with the right people to formulate these goodies. The famous sisters partnered with Farouk Systems (best known for CHI and BioSilk) to create the new collection. The elegant branding of the line is paired with packaging that has a prestige feel.

The hero ingredient of the collection is Black Seed Oil, a nutrient rich treatment and styling aid that rejuvenates and nourishes hair so it appears strong, thick, and shiny. I styled my hair with literally every product today and am happy to report that my favorite products of the bunch are the Take 2 Dry Shampoo, Black Seed Dry Oil, and the Smooth Styler Blow Dry Cream.

I cocktailed the blow dry cream and the oil together and ran it through damp ends before heat styling. I also applied a little extra dry oil to my ends after drying. (Technically you aren’t supposed to do that with thick oils like this, but I’ve never really been a fan of rules. It’ll help tame your split ends if they’re really stubborn.)

The dry shampoo is not as heavy as most others on the market. It absorbs oil effectively and provides a light refresh, adding just enough oomph without all the buildup. It also leaves a lingering fresh scent in the hair that I can still smell as I type this.

All in all,  I think Keeks and Kooks launched a fabulous bunch of products on Tuesday. Order online or check them out in person at your local Ulta!

Sparkle Louder with Hpnotiq (and win a trip to NYC for New Year’s Eve!)

I am thrilled to partner with Hpnotiq, one of my favorite liqueurs, to promote their new SparkleLouder campaign! They have a fabulous contest (running now through Dec. 8) where you can win a trip to my fav place – New York City – for an epic New Year’s Eve adventure!

If your entry sparkles the loudest, you and three girlfriends will be whisked away to the city that never sleeps for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the ball drop in Times Square! Every entry also gives you a chance to win an Effy Ring. Sounds like a good deal to me!

Entering is super easy and fun. Hpnotiq challenges you to upload a pic showing how you plan to Sparkle Louder on New Year’s Eve – whether it’s a glam outfit, you with your girlfriends or a selfie. Then use Hpnotiq’s “SparkleLouder” app to make your photo shine! The app and contest entry can be found here:

Technically, I can’t enter the contest, but if I cooould, this is a pic I would sparkle up and submit for entry in the contest: Best Sparkling

I had way too much fun with the sparkling tool! In the photo, I’m wearing what I would wear for a glam night on the town – sparkling blue mini dress, moto jacket, affordable bling from the Icing, a hot pink lip, and of course – a smile! All the sequins in the world could not match the sparkle in a genuine smile. Oh, and a glowing Hpnotiq cocktail in hand never hurts in the sparkle department either!

I just die thinking about how fun New Year’s Eve in NYC would be. By the way, I know I can’t win this contest, but I wonder if you could take me as a guest when you win? Just throwing that out there. 😉

So, how would you Sparkle Louder? I’d love to hear your ideas and see your photos if you enter the contest. Stay tuned for more on the Hpnotiq Sparkle Louder Contest (and some fierce blue cocktail recipes for your New Year’s Eve soiree, too)!
