My New Favorite Denim Brand

slink-jeans

As you all know, I am a huge proponent of positive body image no matter what size you are! I’ve been very vocal about this on the blog which is why I am so excited to spread the news about one of my favorite new fashion brands – SLINK Jeans!

The SLINK philosophy totally aligns with mine and I love that there is finally a premium denim brand for curvy girls that stands for what I believe in. I believe that banishing body shame is essential and SLINK agrees. The brand name itself is an acronym for “sexy, lovable, intelligent, noticeable, and kind.” Love it.

The premium denim line is designed with an exclusive, curve-hugging technology, so the quality of the jeans is just as amazing as the brand’s body positive stance.

SLINK currently offers a range of curve-friendly sizes starting at size 10 and will soon expand to ALL sizes (0-24) because not all curves are created equal.

SLINK is also launching a beauty contest with an opportunity to win big in the next month, so be sure to follow SLINK on Instagram and Facebook to keep an eye out for more details on how you can enter to win.

Are you ready to join the body positive revolution with me? Shop SLINK at retailers like Nordstorm and Macy’s and be sure to stay tuned for more details on Martinis and Mascara about my new favorite brand!

The Best Black Friday Deals: Amazon Fashion

amazon-black-friday

I will be the first to admit that I don’t love shopping at a store.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE shopping… but I’d rather do it in my PJs from the comfort of my own home.

So, when I discovered the magic that is Amazon Fashion (combined with the amazingness of Amazon Prime) I never looked back. Practically my entire closet is from Amazon, so of course that’s my retailer of choice on Black Friday!

Shopping on Amazon provides all the perks and none of the drama that goes with in-person Black Friday shopping. And today – they have incredible sales with many high-end items priced at a minimum of 30% off!

Read on for some of my fav picks featured in Amazon’s Black Friday sale! Give these as gifts or scoop them up for yourself. (I won’t tell.)

Happy shopping!

What I Learned at Fashion Week

I’m still recovering from the whirlwind that was New York Fashion Week. And if you’re a fashion fan, you know that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the flutter of activity during fashion month around the globe. So, as we look ahead to London, Paris, and Milan, allow me to share what I’ve learned so far…

Disney is in.

Little #mermaid vibes at #MillySpring17. 😍 #nyfw

I saw fairytale themed goodness on more than one runway this season. I spotted Ariel at Milly, Belle at Vicky Zhang, and even the Rodarte show had a princess lost in the forest kinda vibe. Moral of the story is, it’s cool to dress like a princess this spring. This makes me happy for obvious reasons.

The 80s are back.

Seriously. They were all over the place! Definitely in full effect at Jeremy Scott‘s “Slime Time” show where 1980s New York took center stage. Purple eyeshadow, graphic neon nail art, and all.

You can wear a dark lip in the springtime.

It’s a common misconception that you have to wear poppy brights in the spring and vampy dark lips in the fall. But that’s not a thing. You going to challenge Pat McGrath? I know I’m not. #bowdown

All body types are welcome.

Seeing all sizes and all colors on the SAME runway was truly a beautiful thing. Sure there are some designers who dedicate shows to “plus” size fashion, but to showcase both together like Christian Siriano did, on the same runway, is truly remarkable.
