Pop queen Katy Perry just launched her first collection with COVERGIRL. And it’s awesome.
The collection features 13 highly-pigmented and moisturizing demi-matte lipsticks in the season’s hottest shades (even black!), plus a hot new mascara. The Katy Kat Collection was created to make “cool” accessible with an affordable price point – just in time for summer!
In a market saturated with traditional poppy brights for the season, I thought it was very cool-girl-chic of a mass brand like COVERGIRL to up level trends at the drugstore. With Lime Crime-esque shades as well as a beautiful assortment of classic reds and pinky nudes, I think this collab totally hits the mark.
The formula is on point as well and provides a cushiony feel paired with beautiful color payout. It’s a little silkier than a traditional matte, but not super glossy. It maintains all the perks of a matte lip and combines them with the comfort and sheen of a glossier texture. Into it.
COVERGIRL Katy Kat Matte Lipsticks and Katy Kat Eye Mascara will be available at mass-market, drugstore, food and e-commerce retailers nationwide beginning July 2016.
