Obsession of the Day: Kevyn Aucoin “The Matte” Lip Color in Persistence

I was introduced to Kevyn Aucoin’s makeup mastery when I was about 13, browsing the books at Barnes and Noble. I can remember flipping to the page in Face Forward with Martha Stewart styled as Veronica Lake and having my MIND BLOWN. You’re telling me that makeup can do that?

I’ve been a fan of his work ever since. I still have that book (along with his other bestseller, Making Faces) sitting on my bookshelf.

He was a brilliant artist, one of the masters that inspired me from the very beginning. His legacy lives on through his brand of amazing beauty products – most of which I’m hopelessly devoted to in my daily beauty routine. This particular purple shade (Persistence) is totally on trend and perfectly pigmented.
